MARCHANT, David John Born 11/09/1973 - 03/06/2009 It is with deep regret that we have to announce the death of our much loved son, he died in a motor bike accident in the South of France. He was born in Croxley, attended Harvey Road and Durrants school, and lived with Lydia in Coombe Hill Road, Rickmansworth. David worked as senior manager for Orange Mobile and as such took part in many charitable activities. Completing the London to Brighton and London to Paris cycle rides. He also cycled across the Pennines at Hadrians Wall. He loved the countryside and walking, he climbed most of the high peaks in the Peak and the Lake District and completed the three peaks challenge. Wales was his favourite haunt and he loved climbing Snowdon and the Brecon Beacons, camping out with the lads and having a cheeky beer. He held a black belt in karate and was a member of the karate club in Maple Cross. His biggest love was his motorbike and he travelled several times to the Nurburg Ring and the Swiss Alps, Italy and Southern France and it was returning from this trip that he was killed. Funeral arrangements will take place when his body is returned from the French authorities. To Lydia, his partner for 15 years, to us his parents, to his sister Hayley and her partner Leigh, our tears and loss are immeasurable and he will always be alive in our broken hearts.

To David's Family,I have only just heard the awful news. I used to work with David at Vodafone where we did our apprenticeships together. I was based in Newcastle but we used to see each other on training visits to Newbury. We were supposed to be learning but we tended to go out on a night and get rather drunk- well, when we could find a bar who would serve a bunch of 16yr olds !!! The next morning was never a pretty sight. He was one of the good guys in this world, always friendly, always with a smile, always willing to put himself out for someone else.
May you find comfort in your memories and each other.
Kindest Regards,
Jennifer Clasper (Nee Paul)
Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Report this message By Lucie Moss on 22nd Jun 2009I'll think of the days, I'll think of my friend, I'll remember the boy I knew, the things we did, the camps we made, the trees we climbed, a childhood of fun. I will always think of those days, those simpler times.

I could find you there
Pulled away before your time
I can't deal it's so unfair

If I should go tomorrowIt would never be goodbye
For I have left my heart with you
So don't you ever cry
The love that's deep within me
Shall reach you from the stars
You'll feel it from the heavens
And it will heal the scars

Report this message By Lydia Sanchez on 20th Jun 2009I ride my bike, it feels so free
This is where I love to be
The breeze on my face blows the cobwebs away
I wish you were here with me as I ride all day
If someone told me my time had come
There were things that I'd have said and done
Don't be sad, for no one knew
This was going to happen, but now I am new
I ride my bike and I am free
With you my spirit will always be
