Published in the Westmorland Gazette on 5th December 2009 (Distributed in Kendal)HADWIN Tom - Dave, Judy and Joe wish to say a sincere thank you to all our family, friends and work colleagues for the unbelievable support and kindness we have received following the sudden, tragic and devastating loss of Tom, especially to Sue and Paul who have drawn on their own personal tragedy to help us so much. We are so grateful for the many cards, letters, flowers and generous donations to KLAFC and the overwhelming number of wonderful tributes paid to Tom by so many of his friends show us all how much he was respected and loved by all that knew him. He will be missed by so many, forgotten by none. Thanks to the Rev Richard Snow and his wife Gilly for a beautiful and moving service and to Edward Duckett and Son for their caring support and professional arrangements. Special warm and heartfelt thanks to Scott Kirk and Ben Dowson for the wonderful personal tributes they found the strength to make during the service which meant so much to us. Thanks also to Mark and Vicky, Dales Butchers for the superb spread they put on and to Sheila for providing the music that kept us all going during the day and late into the evening, not forgetting Donald and all his hardworking staff at the Rugby Club who worked late on into the night. Thank you to everyone who attended Tom’s service and a special big thank you to all the members of Kirkby Lonsdale Football Club who all turned out so smartly to walk with him and to the whole of Kirkby who turned out to watch him make his last journey through his beloved home town in such style, making the day so special and such a great tribute to a very, very special young man who made us all so proud and will live on 'smiling' in all our hearts forever.

I’ve done it for you every year and to just stop is much too hard
Especially this year as 14th March 2010 was to be such a special day
We’d be celebrating your 23rd birthday and also Mothers day
I remember the day you told me as you were going out the door
"Hey mum, guess what! My birthday is on mothers day next year
That’s never happened before"
But that day has come and your not here to celebrate with me
No cake to make or present to give or steak at the Orange Tree
But I know you wouldn’t want us to cry or be sad
I can hear you saying now "Party on Old Lad"
So on this special day Tom we will all try our best
To smile & be happy, We might even have a Sambucca fest!!

You would have loved all the snow outside our house and all the love inside. We tried not to be sad, all your family and friends were here and I know that you were with us too, God Bless my darling love mum xxx
