JAMES — MONICA. Peacefully, at Ayrshire Central Hospital on Saturday, 17th July, 2010, Monica M. James, nee Allen, in her 80th year, beloved wife of Tony, a dearly loved mother and grandmother greatly loved and missed. Service at Our Lady and St John Church, Stewarton on Friday, 23rd July at 10am. Funeral thereafter at Stewarton Cemetery at 11am. All friends are respectfully invited.

    Monica is remembered with love by her friends in the US. We especially recall her kindness when we visited Scotland in the late 1980s and when you (Tony and Monica) visited us in 1990 to help us celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of Roz’s parents. Besides her unfailing kindness, Monica also was a lot of fun, as well as having a strong mind and ready wit. Her family and her faith were the core of her existence. Thank you, Monica, for showing us a life well lived in the spirit of generosity, courage, and love.

    My Auntie Mon was a lovely, warm, friendly, bubbly person. She was intelligent and interesting. I shall miss her terribly and remember her with warmth. She was a fabulous cook and her beef strogonoff has never been beaten. Deepest sympathy to her family. Love Nicki and family
