I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Terry's sudden and unexpected death. He was so much help to me when I was Commodore of Sail La Vie! He and Kay always added so much spirit and joy to any activity or meeting that they attended. My heartfelt prayers go out to Kay and his daughters. Terry will be sorely missed. I am so glad I got to see him and talk with him one last time in League City this spring.

My heart goes out to you at this time of deepest loss.
Terry was simply the best man I have ever known. He had the way of making you laugh and feel safe even when you are wet through and cold at 3.00 am in a storm half way across the Gulf of Mexico in a small boat ! He was the life and sole of any event always full of life and vitality and could always be relied upon to help, do, mend, organise - what ever was needed. He has left a massive hole in our hearts and lives. All his sailing friends in Houston are shocked and saddened by his death.
My deepest sympathy goes out to Kay at this dreadful time

Wonderful Trips
I was so sorry to hear the news about Terry. So sudden, such a shock.
Terry and I never met, but we have emailed and spoken by phone over the last five years, when I booked weekends away for members of my club, The Single Connection.
My members always enjoyed these trips and for some they have been life changing. It was wonderful for them to have an opportunity to sail around Scotland. They always has plenty of tales to tell when they returned.
For me it was good to know they were always in safe hands and would be well taken care of. Terry was a man of his word and I trusted him completely.
I passed the sad news to members of my club last night and some are very upset indeed.
Please accept my sincere condolences for your sudden loss.
Thinking of you.

A good friend
Terry was a gentleman, a great man to sail with and learn from; he always put others first and (almost!) never complained. He was a good friend to the end.

A great Inspiration
I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of our friend Terry. I have very fond memories of the time we worked together in and around Aberdeen after he gave me a break as a young graduate Engineer some 19 years ago. There were so many experiences I can never forget, least of all the opportunity he shared to live life to the full. Terry was a real inspiration and I know that I speak for all of us when I say that he will be dearly missed in the Explosives Engineering community both here in the UK and overseas. Our sincere thoughts are with Kay and Family.

To my old sea dog mate Terry,
Captain Terry, it was one of life’s greatest pleasures, and an honour to sail with you and share your friendship.I will still have a tear in my eye, when next I sit at my chart table and eagerly listen to the shipping forecast, I will always remember the days we spent sheltering from the storm in Wigg Bay in Loch Ryan, I can still smell the fresh cups of tea you passed across from the galley on Galene. We endured lightening storms off Port Stephens with Andy and Eddie, we watched the sun rising over the Pacific, we spent many happy hours with our salty friends in the watering holes of Manly, we laughed all night long in Rothesay after making a safe haven. In good times and bad, in calm or storm, we always made the most of it, we came out smiling.
The world has lost a gentleman, I have lost my dear friend.Terry was a light in the darkness, our love and condolences go out to Kay and her family.

Remembering Terry
Kay and family:
Please know that all of us in Houston, TX (SLV) are remembering all that both Terry and Kay, gave back to our sailing family here. We love you both and we are all devastated that Terry has passed away. I was on his Cherry Sail with SLV and also he was my crew trainer. We enjoyed so many times with you two. I am so saddened to hear of your loss.
So life has a way of changing in an instant and we just never know when that will be. Terry lived his dreams to the maximum and we knew that about him. He is a wonderful person and a dear friend to all of us.
Fair winds my friend and see you on the water.
We love you Terry and Kay Digges.
